Fees & Cancellations

We aim to be open and transparent with fees we charge for our services.

We believe we provide a high level comprehensive and compassionate assessment of your respiratory and sleep health. We take the time each patient needs to ensure we understand their needs and explain the suggested management plan. Our fees reflect this service.

Pensioner rates available to Australian government-issued Pensioner Concession Card holders by displaying your card, with consultation fees approximately 50% of the out of pocket costs compared to our standard charges.

We do not offer concession rates at this time to Healthcare Card holders, however these patients may be eligible for higher refunds for medical expenses through the Medicare Safety Net.

Our highest priority is to ensure your continued access to medical care. If you are struggling with financial hardship, or find the upfront cost difficult, please mention this at the time of booking, during consultation with our doctors or to one of our helpful receptionists, as we may be able to arrange a reduced fee,
however please note that we are not a bulk billing practice.

Payment Policy

All Payments are due at the time of consultation via Credit Card or EFTPOS.

No cash is kept on premises and change cannot be given.

We can process your claim for a Medicare Rebate on your behalf and have Medicare deposit it directly into your bank account if you have pre-registered your details with Medicare. Alternatively, you can be issued with a receipt allowing you to claim the rebate from Medicare.

Non Medicare-Eligible Patients

If you do not have a medicare card, are from overseas, or are attending for a workplace assessment, you will not be able to claim a medicare rebate and full amounts will apply.

* Spirometry tests and Nasendoscopy are bulk-billed for patients having medicare-eligible consultations.

** Bronchoprovocation can only be ordered by Respiratory physicians, or have a consultation with one of our physicians prior to ensure safety and necessity of the test.

Fees for Scripts & Telephone calls

From 2023, Medicare provides minimal reimbursement for telephone-only consultations with physicians (Video-consultations are still reimbursed at the rates listed above under 'consultation') and patients will generally be entitled to higher rebates for face to face or videoconferencing.

As such, the follow rates apply for patients requesting a repeat script, phone advice or clarification. Times listed includes the time of the phone call, plus time off the phone chasing results or generating referrals. Most repeat prescriptions can also be written by your referring General Practitioner.

Do not attend the practice if you have new-onset respiratory symptoms.

A tele-consultation can still take place instead
and there is no need to cancel the appointment.

Cancellation Policy

Bondi Respiratory & Sleep is a busy specialist practice and our appointments are in high demand.

Our Cancellation Policy is designed to ensure fairness to both patients who are kept waiting for appointments as well as our doctors who are striving to meet the demand for their services.

Your appointment time is reserved especially for you. We do not double-book or over-book our clinics. All patients are given the time needed to provide a thorough and detailed medical assessment.

We understand that at times appointments need to be changed.

Under this cancellation policy, our doctors appreciate your
co-operation as below:

A minimum of 24 hours notice prior to your scheduled appointment time is required for cancellation or changes to appointment times.
Patients not attending or cancelling their appointment within 24 hours of their scheduled appointment time will be charged a non-attendance fee.
The non- attendance fee for a standard appointment is $200 for a new consultation and $100 for a follow up consultation, lung function or sleep studies.
Please note no subsequent appointments will be booked until the non-attendance fee is settled.
